well john and i babysat last night for some our friends' adorable girls. after the girls were asleep, we were watching tv, and the most amazing thing happened...ZBB was on CMT Crossroads! for those who don't know, ZBB is zac brown band. my favorite thing in the world. now he's because famous lately, but ive been on the bandwagon for years. i usually hate those "cool bands" that everyone loves once they're famous. i like the ones i followed before anyone knew them. lady antebellum. drew holcomb and the neighbors. shedaisy. ZBB. i've been a ZBB fan since my sophomore year in college. no one else even knew them! i had chicken friend on my iPod way before anyone had heard about them. i'm just that awesome. i had the original versions of songs, not the ones that they have changed and put on the radio. john and i also had our first wedding dance to a ZBB song because we love him that much.
so we were watching crossroads. jimmy buffett was the other group on there, but i was in it for ZBB. here's the link to the show...Crossroads. i gave john a CD with tons of ZBB songs on it the first Fall we were dating. we've seen him live twice, and he's amazing. he is one of those artists who jams in concert, he doesn't just sing normal songs that everyone loves. he's so entertaining to watch, and i'm always amazed at his skill. this picture is about the time that john and i had just seen ZBB for the first time.
i love ZBB. that's all that this is about. i want to leave you with a truly inspiring song...or the lyrics at least. i love it. enjoy!
here's a link to the website, where you can hear the song.
click on ZBB JUKEBOX and then you can click "Chicken Fried" or anything. he's wonderful.
You know I like my chicken fried
Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I was raised up beneath the shade of a Georgia pine
And that`s home you know
With sweet tea, pecan pie and homemade wine
Where the peaches grow
And my house it`s not much to talk about
But it`s filled with love that`s grown in southern ground
And a little bit of chicken fried
Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I`ve seen the sunrise
See the love in my woman`s eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother`s love
And its funny how it`s the little things in life that mean the most
Not where you live, what you drive or the price tag on your clothes
There`s no dollar sign on a piece of mind; this I`ve come to know
So if you agree have a drink with me
Raise your glasses for a toast
To a little bit of chicken fried
Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I`ve seen the sunrise
See the love in my woman`s eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother`s love
I thank god for my life
And for the stars and stripes
May freedom forever fly, let it ring.
Salute the ones who died
And the ones that gave their lives so we don`t have to sacrifice
All the things we love
Like our chicken fried
Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I`ve seen the sunrise
See the love in my woman`s eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother`s love
You know I like my chicken fried
Cold beer on a Friday night
A pair of jeans that fit just right
And the radio up
Well I`ve seen the sunrise
See the love in my woman`s eyes
Feel the touch of a precious child
And know a mother`s love
