planning ahead

we don't even own our own house yet. i'm quite glad of this, because i don't think it's the time to buy a house and then try to sell it in this market. but alas, i'm bored at school, looking at martha stewart's wonderful ideas for houses. lovely. here's what i've found...

i love the idea of using a ladder in the bathroom to hang towels on. it takes up virtually no space at all, and you don't have to have that tacky plastic rod above the toilet. i'm a fan.

i really like how warm this room feels when you look at it, and i LOVE LOVE LOVE the shutters! it just looks so sophisticated yet comfortable. my kinda room!

john and i have already planned our getaway home out west. not the one we'll live in permanently, but the one we use for vacations and for our families to come play. we had talked about having something just like this...a few beds together in a big room...perfect for kids to stay up all night and play with cousins!

i want to have a library in my bedroom like this when i'm a grownup. it reminds me of the house we used to rent every summer on the cape.

now i hate this room for the most part...i would die if i had a bed with uneven bed posts on it, and i can't imagine such a hard looking bed being comfortable. it looks miserable. but i LOVE the floors! so old and country looking. i want it. thanks.
